DO YOU ALSO LOVE THE SKY?

written by Gontse Nkwe – resident blog author and intuitive card reader at The Nest Space

Namaste Nest Tribe. Welcome to The Nest Space Blog!

My name is Gontse and I am an empath and an intuitive. One of my deepest passions is the wonder of the sky, specifically its divine order and infinite wisdom.

My connection with the moon runs deep; I find her comforting, welcoming, wise and as strict as she needs to be when the need arises. She reminds me that I am a living being that needs attention and care. I find that when I am aware of the energies surrounding me, I am better able to connect to what is happening within me.

My relationship with astrology began in my teens when I couldn’t put my mother’s paperback copy of Linda Goodman’s Love Signs down. Linda was an American astrologer and poet whose first book, written in the 60s, became a New York Times bestseller. I was so intrigued by her style of storytelling as Linda moved through each sign and described its interactions with its counterpart.

This is what intrigues me about astrology; As they say, “As above, so below” and I look forward to sharing what I write about the moon and the sky, with you.

The Zodiac

Each sign/season of the zodiac carries an element (Air, Water, Earth or Fire). These are the same elements that make up everything around us and inside of us – what we call Life.

The start of the zodiac year is marked by Aries. Thereafter each sign that comes in as the year passes, builds on the one before it, culminating in Pisces… this is how Pisces holds its reputation as the most complex of all the signs.

The signs carry energy that governs areas of our lives. No sign exists in isolation as it is affected by the ones that come before it, after it, and the planetary placements of the time.

The zodiac equips us with knowledge we can harness to capitalise on each season and come through with a more complex understanding of our evolution and growth as individuals and as a collective.

Look at the sky; remind yourself of the cosmos. Seek vastness at every opportunity in order to see the smallness of yourself.

– Matt Haig

In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order.

— Carl Jung

We are the representatives of the cosmos; we are an example of what hydrogen atoms can do, given 15 billion years of cosmic evolution.

GEMINI SEASON – BEGAN MAY 21ST AND ENDS JUNE 21ST

Gemini, the twins, invite concepts of duality, versatility, adaptability, and flexibility. We will have the opportunity to use our courage to drive us forward and, in the process, discover a refreshed understanding of what else we may be capable of: enlightenment of our inner power.

Our improved understanding of all the sides of a situation allows us to prioritise ourselves with balance. This season brings with it a significant shift of self-empowerment and a better understanding of our ability to thrive.

We find ourselves on the other side of a period of resistance. We have identified self-limiting beliefs and a lack of worthiness around our boundaries. This full moon in Sagittarius reveals our worthiness to pursue a peaceful life. A worthiness that is rooted in a realisation of the courage we hold, a courage that was lying dormant inside of us.

THE MOON

We are made of water and we are moved by the gravitational pull of the moon…just like the ocean.

The cycles of the moon enlighten us to emotions, insights and revelations that we previously did not have the capacity to see or understand. The moon is a reminder of our nature, the cycles we form a natural part of, and our relationship with the information that nature has available.

As the moon phases cause shifts in energy, I feel the tide in me shift and I find it comforting when I am reminded that I am a part of nature.

A moon cycle lasts approximately 4 weeks and begins with a new moon where the moon is invisible in our dark skies. After 2 weeks of growth, the moon swells into her full moon shape half-way through her cycle, before shrinking in shape once again until she disappears once again on the next new moon 2 weeks later. By mirroring her cycles we can schedule our own self care practices according to the moon phases. The new moon is when I set intentions and I use the full moon as an opportunity to connect with what the moon wants to reveal to me to release and let go.

FULL MOON IN SAGITTARIUS – Sunday 4th June

On Sunday 4 June, the full moon will be in Sagittarius – the fire sign opposite Gemini on the zodiac calendar.

Sagittarius, the centaur, half human, half horse, has his arrow pointed with clarity of direction and his body is fit to meet his aim. Sagittarius is about taking action in areas where we see clarity. The energy of fire brings passion for that which we have come to believe and to act on it.

The past 6 months back has had us thinking about our worthiness and the size of the space we can take up in the world. There has been resistance facing the changes required and therefore, delays in taking action. We have been driven to consider how we can honour our needs and avoid emotions of regret by not addressing them.

NEW MOON IN GEMINI – Saturday 17th June

On 17 June we will be welcomed by the new moon in Gemini which will provide us to start anew and manifest our dreams.

You are worthy of a peaceful life. There is a courage that is lying dormant inside of you. My wish for you this Gemini season is that you realise it.

Join us this month at The Nest Space for our full and new moon gatherings as we gather in community under these cosmic skies.
